North Node in the 10th House

The North Node in the tenth house points at the public account: a role, a contribution, and being answerable for it.

The tenth house is the top of the chart and the most visible part of a life. The tradition reads this nodal position as growth through taking a position in the world and standing behind it.

The South Node in the fourth is the familiar half: home, family, the private ground and the comfort of the known circle. That is genuinely restorative and it is also where this placement is described as retreating to a little too readily.

It is associated with a late and deliberate step into responsibility, and with achievement that arrives after somebody stops waiting to feel ready.

What this placement does well and what it costs

What it is good at

Anything with a name attached and consequences for getting it wrong. The placement is read as strong for authority that has been earned in public.

What it asks for

Visibility, and the loss of the fourth house's privacy, which is a real cost and not only a feeling.

The two halves of this placement

A planet says what, a house says where in a life it happens. The sign it sits in says how, and that is a third reading again.

This placement needs your birth time

Your North Node sign depends only on the date. Its house depends on the horizon at the moment you were born, and the whole framework rotates by one house roughly every two hours. An hour of error moves about half a house, which is frequently the difference between this page and the one next to it.

If a free chart gave you houses without asking for a time, it assumed one, usually noon or midnight. Check the placement before you build anything on it.

Where is your North Node?

The chart is free, takes a birth time, and gives you every planet by sign and by house, with the aspects between them.
