☉ Sun · Angular house
Sun in the 1st House
The Sun in the first house puts the centre of a life on the surface of it. What this person is becoming is visible in how they walk into a room.
The first house is the way you arrive, and the Sun is what you are for. Together the tradition reads them as unusual congruence between the inner project and the outward manner: this is somebody whose presence is not a performance laid over something else.
It reads as conspicuous. A first-house Sun is noticed on entering, described by others in terms of energy or presence, and is frequently the person other people organise a room around without anybody deciding to. That is not the same as wanting the attention.
The difficulty is proportionality. When the self is this legible, other people react to it before knowing anything, and the reactions are strong in both directions.
What this placement does well and what it costs
What it is good at
Anything requiring you to be the front of it. The placement is associated with a natural authority that does not have to be claimed.
What it asks for
Being read quickly and often wrongly. Also a tendency to take up more room than intended, which is invisible from inside.
The two halves of this placement
A planet says what, a house says where in a life it happens. The sign it sits in says how, and that is a third reading again.
This placement needs your birth time
Your Sun sign depends only on the date. Its house depends on the horizon at the moment you were born, and the whole framework rotates by one house roughly every two hours. An hour of error moves about half a house, which is frequently the difference between this page and the one next to it.
If a free chart gave you houses without asking for a time, it assumed one, usually noon or midnight. Check the placement before you build anything on it.
Where is your Sun?
The chart is free, takes a birth time, and gives you every planet by sign and by house, with the aspects between them.
