South Node in the 2nd House

The South Node in the second house describes security as the practised setting: build it, hold it, and know exactly what it is worth.

This is read as competence with resources and with self-sufficiency, including the ability to be content with what is genuinely owned.

The North Node opposite in the eighth points at depth and entanglement, and a second-house South Node meets that by reaching for the familiar instead: keep it simple, keep it mine, keep it countable.

The tradition treats the placement as materially steady and as slow to accept anything that cannot be held.

What this placement does well and what it costs

What it is good at

Stewardship. Anything that needs somebody who will not gamble it away.

What it asks for

Holding on is the reflex, and the eighth house asks specifically for letting go.

The two halves of this placement

A planet says what, a house says where in a life it happens. The sign it sits in says how, and that is a third reading again.

This placement needs your birth time

Your South Node sign depends only on the date. Its house depends on the horizon at the moment you were born, and the whole framework rotates by one house roughly every two hours. An hour of error moves about half a house, which is frequently the difference between this page and the one next to it.

If a free chart gave you houses without asking for a time, it assumed one, usually noon or midnight. Check the placement before you build anything on it.

Where is your South Node?

The chart is free, takes a birth time, and gives you every planet by sign and by house, with the aspects between them.
