The Sun MC line
The Sun culminating is the classic placement for visibility. The tradition associates it with recognition, leadership and work that carries your name, and with an ego that has room to expand, for better and worse. People often report feeling more themselves here, and more exposed.
Where this line falls
The planet was highest in the sky here, associated with visibility, career and public life.
MC and IC lines run straight north to south. They mark the meridians where the planet was directly overhead and directly underfoot. On a map they are vertical.
What it bears on
How much this placement is taken to matter in five areas of life. These are the numbers our comparison tool actually uses, published rather than hidden.

- Travel+1
A negative is not a prediction that something goes wrong. Saturn on the midheaven scores badly for an easy life and well for building something that lasts. The tradition is describing weight, not misfortune.
How close is close enough?
Within about 120 km a line is read as fully in effect. Out to roughly 240 km it still reads as present. Past 650 km there is nothing worth saying. Those are our published bands, and they are on the tool itself rather than kept private.
Bear in mind that a birth time rounded to the nearest half hour moves every line by around 800 km: considerably more than the width of the strongest band. The accuracy of your time matters more than the precision of any interpretation on this page.
How we calculate all of this →The same planet on the other angles
Sun means something different on each angle, and treating the four as interchangeable is the commonest way to misread a map.
Before this makes sense
Where is your line?
None of this says anything about you until you know where your own Sun MC line actually runs. The map is free and shows all ten planets.
